TMT Bar
Thermo Mechanical Treatment (TMT) or processing, is a metallurgical process that integrates work hardening and heat treatment with one single process. The Thermex — quenching process produces bars from low carbon steel which are of very high strength. The process quenches the surface layer of the bar, which pressurizes and deforms the crystal structure of the intermediate layers, and simultaneously begins to temper the quenched layers using the heat from the bar's core.
- German Thermex technology, most advanced technology
- Hot/ cold billet charging facility
- Billet weighing facility
- High pressure water de-scaling facility-Ensures scale free TMT bars
- High speed continuous mill for less exposure to atmosphere which helps in maintaining close dimensional tolerance and uniform weight across the length of the bar
- Inter stand tension control rolling MTC (Minimum Tension Control)
- Online rapid water quenching unit for production of thermo-mechanically treated high strength Bars (TMT bars). O Sparkonix computer controlled notch making CNC machines for even spaced and precise depth rib cutting.
FE 550 TMT BAR
Fe 550 is one of the variants of TMT Steel Bars, which is ideal for high-rise buildings and other structures that require bearing a lot of weight. Here, ‘Fe’ refers to the iron content present in the bar, and 550 refers to the minimum yield strength of the bar. Fe 550 TMT bars also have better tensile strength and provide low-cost house construction when compared with their predecessors.

High Strength for Critical Applications
The Bheem TMT bars Fe 500D is a special grade of TMT bars produced under specific process conditions resulting in increased strength as compared to other grades of TMT bars. Fe 500D bars are ideal for applications in heavy load RCC structures like flyovers, dams, bridges and other critical structures where high yield load (design load) is required without compromising on the ductility. In addition to the features of Bheem TMT bars exhibit the following characteristics.characteristics
Special WeldabilitySpecial Weldability
Bheem TMT bars do not require pre or post welding treatment as they have low carbon content and are produced under controlled thermomechanical treatment.Bheem TMT bars do not require pre or post welding treatment as they have low carbon content and are produced under controlled thermomechanical treatment.
Higher Corrosion ResistanceHigher Corrosion Resistance
The controlled thermomechanical treatment also results in a uniform and thick tempered martensitic rim, completely free from internal stress. This martensitic rim improves the corrosion resistance as well as fatigue strength of the Bheem TMT bars Fe 500D when compared to other TMT bars. The controlled thermomechanical treatment also results in a uniform and thick tempered martensitic rim, completely free from internal stress.
